ICAP Executive Search, on behalf of our client, a Global Leader in the Insurance Broking and Risk Management market, is seeking for a high caliber and driven Deputy CEO

Deputy CEO ( Ref. 4279/DCEO/ESS/GR)

The Role:

The Deputy CEO will drive the strategic plan and oversee the effective performance of the different departments within the organization, so as to enhance mandate and service delivery in support of the core business, and enhance sustainability.

  • Define business strategies and objectives, working closely with the practice leaders to foster effective working relationships, putting best resources in front of clients and markets.

  • Develop the annual business plan and budget in collaboration with practices and client service, collaborating with all functions that contribute to the profitability and the achievement of business objectives, to maximize revenue in compliance with corporate guidelines, and drive the strategic intent.

  • Support the strategic plan of sales and client service to build and grow large strategic clients, and lead the placement, practices and operations teams to optimize new and existing business opportunities.

  • Supervise the overall performance of Industry Leaders.

  • Maximize the success of the practices by optimizing local client satisfaction through increased coordination of service teams, increasing the revenues through more effective sales efforts of the practice teams, and improving NOI through more focused management of client account profitability.

  • Manage the Placement Specialists teams; has oversight and determines authority on assigned transactions and may serve as lead negotiator and problem solver in obtaining the most appropriate carrier placements based upon more complex client needs.

  • Utilize the network of the organization resources to develop and implement effective risk solutions, being the “go to” person for resolution of difficult market issues.

  • Lead cross functional organizational change to strategically adapt to changing environmental demands.

  • Share relevant information with staff to ensure goal achievement and client satisfaction, fostering a culture of integrity and trust by consistently acting as a partner and inspiring others through action.

  • Matrix management; encourage and foster cooperation with the client industry, client consulting, and placement groups, as well as other Group companies to meet local client needs.

  • Encourage employee development by providing appropriate coaching and counseling support. Set high standards for goals that result in top quality service. Motivates and leads employees and inspires team spirit.

Job Requirements


  • Master’s degree in Finance/Economics, Engineering, Law or Business Management
  • Minimum 15 years of industry experience, of which at least 5 should have been at Director´s or General Management level in the insurance services market
  • Proven experience in several lines of business
  • Demonstrable insight into fundamental financial principles
  • Fluency in Greek and English (written and oral)
  • Strong IT systems literacy
  • Strong strategic thinker with excellent commercial acumen
  • Decisiveness, influence and impact
  • Strong relationship management and negotiation skills
  • Agile, open to innovation
  • Accomplished people manager and leader
